Chunky Panday On The Fabulous Lives Of Bollywood Wives: ‘We Should Have A Spin-Off With Sanjay Kapoor And Me’-EXCLUSIVE
Chunky Panday, who was seen with wife Bhavana Pandey in Karan Johar’s 'The Fabulous Lives Of Bollywood Wives', talks about the possibility of a spin-off series with Sanjay Kapoor and himself
In November 2020, Karan Johar came up with the concept of taking a glimpse into the posh lives of Bollywood families with the Netflix show, The Fabulous Lives Of Bollywood Wives, which gave the audience a glimpse into the personal lives of Maheep Kapoor, wife of Sanjay Kapoor, Seema Khan, wife of Sohail Khan, Bhavana Pandey, wife of Chunky Panday and Neelam Kothari who is married to Samir Soni.
The show emerged as a commercial success as people liked to tune into the lives of these people from the fraternity and they even got to see the personal side of a lot of Gen-Z actors like Ananya Panday, Arjun Kapoor, Janhvi Kapoor and the soon-to-be debutante actress Shanaya Kapoor. While the show focused on the lives and adventures of the four ladies—Maheep, Seema, Bhavana and Neelam—the audience found two more characters on the show a lot appealing and they were Sanjay and Chunky.
Their fun personalities, Sanjay’s one-liners and Chunky’s secret hidden cameras at his home, bowled the audience over. So, ask Chunky if there is a possibility of a show with just Sanjay and him living their life and he quips, “Our performance was good because hum logon ko paise nahi mile the. We came in a free fund. When you get money, you act but when it is free, you are yourself. So, we did it.”
Going further, Chunky adds, “I enjoyed doing it a lot because the concept was really good and it brought out our internal personalities. Sanjay is also a fun-loving person who likes to crack jokes on himself and others too. So, we should have a spin-off with us. I was telling Sanjay that last season, the ladies went to Qatar, so in the second season there should be a boys’ holiday in Dubai or somewhere like that.”
